Ethel Marie (Collison) Waddle was born on November 2, 1900 in Erin, Tennessee, the daughter of George A F Collison (1865–1906) and Agnes (Watkins) Collison (1873–1927).
She moved to Nashville about 1j916, attended Warner School and was a member of Woodland Street Presbyterian Church. She was married in August 1921 in Davidson County as the 1st wife of Lillard Waggoner Waddle Sr (1900–1948), the son of Hugh McGavock Waddle (1871–1928) and Mary Penelope (Harman) Waddle (1870–1942).
Living at 815 Sevier Street in Nashville, Ethel was 31 years old and married when she died of chronic nephritis and uremia on June 12, 1932 at Nashville General Hospital, and had been ill for several years.
Survivors included her husband Lillard, sons Lillard Waddle Jr and Hugh McGavock Waddle II, sisters Mrs Ernest Hall of Nashville and Mrs Fred Philippi in Cincinnati, Ohio and brothers George Collison and Zylon Collison in Nashville.
Funeral Services were held on June 14th at Roesch-Johnson-Charlton Funeral Home, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
