Rev. Wallace David Gilmer Sr., 64, of Route 2, Warrenton, Georgia, entered into rest Wednesday, March 5, 1969, at University hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Hubert Haire officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bill Seaman. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rogers Dye, William Swann, R.S. Zeigler, Melvin Smith, Floyd Ivey, Lane McElveen, Bill Clary and James Clary. A native of Hall County, Georgia, he had lived in Warren County 50 years. He was a retired minister of Harlem Church of God and retired lumberman and farmer. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Wallace D. Gilmer, Sr.; a son, Wallace Gilmer Jr., Warrenton; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Jones, Warrenton; two sisters, Mrs. Milo Newsome, Warrenton and Mrs. Grace Jernigan, Albany, Ga.; four brothers, Bruce Gilmer, Thomson, Ga., J.L. Gilmer, Harlem, Ga., Hoke Gilmer, Thomson, Ga., and Robert Gilmer, Charlotte, N.C. M.W. Callaway and Sons Funeral Home.
