Thomas Gary Hansen, 68, of Jerome, passed away peacefully at his home on July 6, with his loving wife at his side.

Gary was born November 28, 1942, in Sage, Wyo. to Thomas A. Hansen and Rula Jenkins Hansen. He was one of four children. Gary grew up in the Bear Lake area and served for a short time in the Navy. Gary married Judy Hansen on September 28, 1966. Judy was the love of his life. They had three sons and two daughters. Gary completed the Painter and Decorators apprenticeship for the Utah State Apprenticeship Council in 1972. In 1977, Gary and Judy moved their family from Logan, Utah to Jerome, Idaho where he started his own successful paint contracting company appropriately named "Gary Hansen Painting". He was an extremely hard worker and the best painter in the world. Gary touched so many lives through his painting company, whether it was people he did work for or people he employed or companies he purchased paint from, there was always one thing in common, everyone thought the world of Gary. He was very funny and witty and even a bit too honest at times. He will be greatly missed as a husband and dad and brother.

Gary is survived by his caring and loving wife, Judy; his children, Danny (Renee) Hansen, Vince (Robyn) Hansen, Liz (Scott) Lewis, John (Lauren) Hansen and Marie (Dustin) McMillan. He also has 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter not yet born, all of whom he loved very, very much. He is also survived by his mother, Rula Hansen, his sister, Joyce (Arden) Nicholls, his brother, Howard Hansen and his mother-in-law, Iva Hansen. He was preceded in death by his dad, Tom, his brother, Tony and his father-in-law, John.

Funeral services will conducted at 11 a.m. Monday July 11, in the Jerome LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 825 East Avenue B, Jerome, with Bishop Rick Geist officiating. Committal services will be held at noon, Tuesday July 12, in the Garden City, Utah cemetery.
