Abbott was the owner-operator of Beer King, in the Uptown Plaza. He had a lifetime love of golf and was a member of various community and social organizations.
He was born November 5, 1942, in Harrisburg, to the late Maurice Abbott and Josephine Frances (Cowden) Loy, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy D. (Wicker) Loy and son, Jeffrey A. Loy.
He is survived by a brother, Brian A. Loy of Mechanicsburg and three sisters, Marilyn A. Loy of Enhaut, Joselyn A. Stahl of Lancaster, and Susan A. Loy of New Cumberland.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m., until funeral services at 11a.m., Monday, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
