She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Daisey Dixon Davis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Anderson Nolen; brothers, J.D. Davis, Forrest Hubert David and Horace Davis and sisters, Pauline Bridges, Viola Hawkins, Ethel Mae Hollifield and Lucille Patterson.
Mrs. Nolen is survived by her son, Michael Nolen of Polkville; two brothers, Clifford Davis of Shelby and Laudice Davis of Lattimore; four sisters, Louise Jones of Forest City, Etta Marie Greene of Forest City, Valrie Mauney of Lincolnton, Irene Brown of Spartanburg, S.C.; and one grandchild, Kelly Bowen.
