The eldest child of Dr. Bond, a son, Shadrach Cuthbert Bond, was born at Steeleville, Randolph County, Illinois, November 11, 1847. He was married in 1895 to Miss Clara Vassie Graves, and they were the parents of two daughters, Miss Ruth Ethel Bond, who died at birth, and Miss Lois Mary Bond. Later he became a resident of Seattle, Washington, where he entered the United States custom service as deputy collector of customs.”
