Graveside services for Kate Parks, 85, were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 1992 in the Garden of Memories Cemetery,, Paducah, Texas. Officiating was Rev. Bob Reed, pastor of the Travis Baptist Church and Rev. O. K. Bowen, pastor of the First Baptist Church, both of Memphis, Texas.
Interment was at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Memphis.
Kate Parks was born October 15, 1906 in San Augustine, Texas. She married Floyd Parks January 1, 1922. She had been a practical nurse for 25 years. Mrs. Parks had been a resident of Memphis since 1948. She was a member of the Travis Baptist Church, Memphis.
Survivors include: one daughter, LaNora Wood, Memphis; two sons, Leon Parks of Memphis and MB Parks of Plainview; seven sisters, Grace Walden, Crosbyton; Juanell Hughs, Dot McDaniel and Fern Keeling,Pat Arbuckle and Doris Hill, all of Logansport, LA; Carol Raye Huff of Shreveport, LA; her step-mother, Bob Galloway of Logansport, LS, eight grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
