Grant Matron Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Winona Lee Murdoch, 42, resident of Grant and wife of B. Dallas Murdoch, died Sunday evening at a local hospital following an operation in which a blood clot apparently developed.
She was born August 14, 1910, at Grant, the daughter of John and Eliza Ann Taylor Lee. She was married June 6, 1934 to B. Dallas Murdoch in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
She was graduated from the LDS Hospital Nursing School in 1952. Since her graduation, she has followed her profession at different times.
After the marriage, they lived in Midway for one year, where he taught school, two years in Emmett, then 11 years in Ucon. For the last five years they lived at Lima, Mont., where they operated a ranch. They moved back to Grant in October, 1952.
Mrs. Murdoch was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as first counselor in the Relief Society in the Lima Branch and was a teacher in Primary, Mutual and Sunday School there.
Since they moved to Grant, she has served as a teacher in the Primary.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Helen Winona Murdoch, Dallas Earl Murdoch, Thomas Ray Murdoch, Ann Marie Murdoch, Ruth Lorraine Murdoch and John B. Murdoch, all of Grant. A son, Ronald Lee, preceded her in death. Also surviving are brothers, Wilburn Lee, Arnold Lee, Wells Lee and Bishop Eldred Lee, all of Grant; one sister, Mrs. Fred Butikofer, Collman; three half-brothers, Sterling B. Lee, Kent H. Lee and John H. Lee, all of Long Beach, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grant LDS Ward Chapel, with a member of the Grant Ward Bishopric officiating. Friends may call at the family home in Grant from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Wood Funeral Home until Wednesday morning.
