Arthur R. (Bud) Clouse, 67, former Ashton resident, died Saturday at Los Gatos, Calif., from cancer. He was born March 2, 1903 at Sumner, Neb., the son of David R. and Clara LaJun Clouse. He attended grade schools in Nebraska and Idaho. Mr. Clouse studied at Creighton University, Omaha, Neb., after graduation from Ashton High school in Ashton in 1921.
After farming at Squirrel he operated a farm machinery dealership and repair shop at Ashton for 12 years. He was later engaged in carpentry and construction work in Montana and North Dakota.
In 1927, Mr. Clouse married Meta Harrigfeld. Five children were born to this union.
Survivors include: Jay Clouse, SLC, Utah; David Clouse & James Clouse, both of San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. J. (Betty) Zezulka, Redondo Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. C. Bauer (Claire) Bauer, Monte Sereno, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Clouse, Zurich, Switzerland; and one sister, Mrs. R. C. Howe, Ashton.
