WAR VETERAN IS FOUND DEAD
Daniel A. Maze, 73 years old, veteran of the civil war, was found dead in his bed at his home in Hope last night about 9 o'clock, his death having been due to paralysis with which he was stricken yesterday.
Mr. Maze reached his seventh-third birthday anniversary last June, and regardless of his advanced age he enjoyed remarkably good health. Yesterday he was taken ill and it is believed he suffered a slight stroke of paralysis. For many years he had made his home with his brother Benjamin Maze, and the latter after seeing his brother was resting in bed, left the home for a short time on an errand, and upon returning to the bedside found him dead. Neither of the brothers was ever married and they had made their homes together for many years.
Mr. Maze was a life long resident of this county, having been born and reared near Hope. He was the son of the late John and Mary Campbell Maze, pioneer settlers of this county. He was widely known and highly esteemed and a member of the Hope Methodist church. He leaves one brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Hope Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Hawkins, of Lewis Creek. Burial will be made in the Norristown Cemetery.
