March 18, 1925 - July 6, 2011

OSCEOLA - Rex E. Anderson, 86, of White Street, Osceola, passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6th, in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on March 18th, 1925, in Glenwood, Georgia, to Daniel Hardy and Jesse Mae (Sutton) Anderson.

He married the former Helen L. Cheek on December 19th, 1943. She preceded him in death in 1995.

Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He worked during his lifetime as a Logger, an Auto Mechanic and also a Railroad Maintenance Person. His hobbies included buying and repairing homes in the neighborhood to improve the community and reselling them.

He is survived by his children, Patsy Harper of Granger, Indiana, Beuford "Butch" (Barb) Lee of Bristol, Indiana, Ronald (Mary Lou) Anderson of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Karen Magyar of South Bend. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to mention his very special friends, Linda Shoemaker and Nichole and Renee' Teitloof.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Helen, along with a son, Thomas, and a brother, Charles, and a daughter, Kathryn (Craig) Weisweaver.

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Anderson on Friday, July 8th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the services on Friday. Burial will follow the services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House, South Bend.
