Spring City -- James R. Watson, 68, died at his home Thursday of a paralytic stroke, which he suffered Wednesday.

Mr. Watson was born in Springville November 13, 1864, a son of Robert and Eliza Watson. He remained in Springville the early part of his life, attending school there. He, with his brother, William E. Watson, followed railroad construction, working on the Denver & Rio Grande from Thistle to Salina. Also, other points in Colorado and Utah.

He married [Lucy Elizabeth] Lizzie Roylance March 15, 1891, at Springville and they came to Spring City in 1894, where he had since resided. He was interested in sheepraising and farming here.

He is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters[;] Mrs. Jennie Barney, Mrs. Hazel Covert, James Albert Watson, Spring City; Mrs. Marie Hansen, Ogden, and Mrs. Lola Pritchett, Los Angeles; 24 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters. William E. Watson, Spring City; Mrs. George Kelley, Springville; Mrs. Ed. Hardman, Eugene, Ore.; W.G. Watson, Long Beach, Cal.

Funeral services are waiting word from the relatives in California and Oregon.
