Margrietje (Coeymans) De Vos (1603-1665) was born in the Netherlands to Pieter De Vos and Geertje. On 9 March 1624, in the Netherlands, she married Andries De Vos (1600-1675). The family came to New York in 1641. Margrietje (Coeymans) De Vos died in March of 1665 in Albany, New York. Originally, she would have been buried out of the Dutch Church, but after the establishment of the Albany Rural Cemetery, her remains would have been moved there in the 1860's. "Tradition holds that the remains were loaded on wagons and carried out Northern
Boulevard to their present location in Menands." (Burying the Dead in Early Albany). CHILD: Catalyntje De Vos (1628-1712).
