She was born March 12, 1881 at Gunlock, Utah, the daughter of Jeremiah Leavitt and Mary Ellen Huntsman Leavitt.
Mrs. Chinn attended schools in Gunlock.
She was married to William E. Chinn April 23, 1914, in the St. George, Utah, LDS Temple.
She lived in Gunlock for 24 years and then moved to Idaho Falls in 1915 where she resided for 50 years. She later moved to Nampa for eight years and then Boise until the time of her death.
Mrs. Chinn was a member of the LDS Church and a Sunday School and Relief Society teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died June 1951 and four sons.
Survivors include two sons, A. J. Chinn of Boise, and Jack E. Chinn of Idaho Falls; six daughters, Mrs. Rex (Birdie) Lee of Reedsport, Ore., Mrs. E. B. (Della) Jamison of Idaho Falls, Mrs. E. R. (Blanche) Connell of San diego, Calif., Mrs. Glen (Leda) Westergard of Idaho Falls, MRs. Cecil (Madeline) Nass of Eugene, Ore,. Mrs. Neil C. (Geneva) Wood of West Covina, Calif., 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Leavitt of St. George, Utah; two sisters, Blanche Holdt of Gunlock, Utah and Ethel Tullis of Los Angeles, Calif.
