DeMotte, passed away July 4, 2011.
On October 27, 1921, in Munster,
Indiana, Paul was born to Paul and
Irene (nee: Kraay) Sekema. Paul was a
lifetime area resident and attended
DeMotte Schools. Paul married Marge
Lucille (nee: Konosky) on July 2, 1942
in Knox, Indiana.
Paul was an Ironworker by trade out of the local 395 for 30
years. Paul was also Army/Air Force Mechanic and Flight
Engineer. Paul was a member of the American Legion Post of
DeMotte, and a member of the VFW of Rensselaer.
Paul is survived by his wife: Marge, children: Marvin (Martha)
Sekema and Joanne Schoonveld and son-in-law: David
Anthony, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1
great-great grandchild, brother: Byrne Sekema and sister:
Marilyn Stellingwerf.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, daughter
Rosemary Anthony and son-in-law Tom Schoonveld.
Graveside Memorial services for Paul will be held on
Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the DeMotte
Cemetery, with American Legion Chaplain: Howard Swart.
Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield,
Indiana is in charge of the arrangements.
