Mary Jane Kingsbury was the daughter of Maj. Julius B. Kingsbury, U.S. Army, and Jane (Stebbins) Kingsbury. On May 2, 1850, she married Lieutenant Simon Bolivar Buckner, U.S. Army, in Old Lyme, New London County, Connecticut.
