Lloyd D. Leeper, 81, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Glenville, passed peacefully on June 16, 2006 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born December 28, 1924 in Bremen, Ind., he was the son of the late Harold and Florence Hershberger Leeper.

Mr. Leeper served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He received his Bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 1950. Mr. Leeper was employed by Bendix Corporation in South Bend, Ind. From 1950 to 1968. Since moving from South Bend, Ind. to Burnt Hills in 1968, he was a manager for General Electric, retiring after 25 years in 1993.

He was married to Joyce (Sumpter) Leeper until her passing in 1991. While living in Southern Saratoga Country, he attended West Charlton Presbyterian Church. For several years, Mr. Leeper lived in Elizabethtown, Pa. with his wife, Betty Lane Jarvis Leeper. Mrs. Leeper died in January of this year.

His memberships included the Elfun Society, G.E. Quarter Century Club, F&AM Lodge 414, and Scottish Rite in South Bend, Ind. Mr. Leeper was a member of MAO Retiree. Following retirement, he enjoyed golf, especially with friend and playing partner, Hap Presson.

Lloyd was predeceased by his brother, G. Dean Leeper in 1991.

Survivors include his children, Duane B. Leeper and his wife, Chris of Clifton Park, Nancy S. Leeper and her husband, Gary Cardinale of Queensbury, and Francene D. Smith and her husband, William of Beth Page, L.I. Loyd is survived by his step-son, John D. Barker of Camp Hill, Pa.; and five cherished grandchildren, Stephen and Heather Leeper, Thomas Smith and Lindsey and Kelsey Barker.
