Television Journalist. He worked as a journalist for the London, England, based ITN News Network for 20 years, and was ITV's longest serving reporter. In 1988 he was the first reporter to get inside the town of Halabjah, Iraq, when Iraqi President Saddam Hussein attacked the Kurds there with chemical weapons. He also had various jobs reporting in Kosovo, Bosnia, and Yugoslavia. He was killed on March 22, 2003, with two other others, Fred Nerac (a British cameraman), and Hussein Osman (a translator from Lebanon), a fourth man was injured, while reporting on the War in Iraq. They were fired upon by 'friendly fire' while driving in vehicles towards a location near the town of Iman Anas, near Basrabut, Iraq. Lloyd was the first journalist to be killed while on assignment in ITN's 48-year history. He was 51 years old.
