William Fletcher Ditzler, a native of Manheim, PA and a resident of San Jose since 1985, died Feb. 19, 2008 at the age of 68 at the Livermore Veteran's Administration Hospital.

Mr. Ditzler was a Lt. with the Sheriff's Dept. of San Diego County for 10 years and most recently was the Deputy Keeper with Santa Clara County. A member of the Santa Clara County Peace Officer's Association. He took care of the firearm practice range in Saratoga. His hobbies were fresh water fishing, cooking and an excellent marksman.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he was buried at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine, CA with Full Military Honors.
