Elmer E. Funkhouser, 77 years old, died at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at this home, R. R. 2, West Terre Haute, following a week's illness. He was a pioneer farmer of Vigo County. He is survived by one son, Elmer, R. R. 2, Paris, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Agness Whitesell, R. R. 2, West Terre Haute; Mrs. Marie Laney, New Goshen, Ind.; Mrs. Edna Eastham, R. R. 1, Paris, and Mrs. Lena Killion of Terre Haute; 29 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Lily Whitesell, R. R. 2, West Terre Haute, and one brother, Jacob Funkhouser, of Paris. The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home and will be returned to the residence Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the Rose Hill Church, west of New Goshen, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
