Robert Fong Wong was the second child and oldest son of Bing Kee Wong, who was the proprietor of the Peking Bazaar on Grant Avenue in San Francisco Chinatown. Robert's mother died when he was just 4 years old, and then he and his two brothers were sent back to Canton to be raised by his paternal grandparents. He returned to the US when he was about 16, and eventually served our country in WW II on Iwo Jima. He was a very kind and friendly addition to our family. He graduated from Cal Berkeley, married and raised three wonderful children. He and his wife Sylvia Chan Wong had two sons are engineers and a daughter who is a ballerina and teaches ballet and dance in Indiana.
