VINCENNES SUN-COMMERCIAL (IN), December 23, 2002:

BRUCEVILLE - Thelma Bateman Beaman, 90, Oaktown, died at midnight, Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Oak Village Nursing Home.

Born May 22, 1912, in Greene County, she was the daughter of William and Maude (Callahan) Clayton.

A homemaker, she was a member of Shaker Prairie Christian Church and Shaker Prairie Ladies Sunday school class.

Her first husband, Claude Bateman, died Dec. 7, 1950. Her second husband, Harley Beaman, died Sept. 9, 1973. Three sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren are deceased.

Survivors include four daughters, Avis Lamb and Cindy Hatfield, both of Oaktown, Doris Stultz of Carlisle and Marjorie Lavely of Waukegan, Ill.; a son, Harley Beaman of Round Lake, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Avanell Bateman of Bloomington; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Shaker Prairie Christian Church by the Stephen Sandefur. Burial will be in Oaktown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Oaktown United Methodist Church.
