Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Dalton, on October 11, 2004; her parents, Albert and Henrietta (Reuland) Beck; and a brother, Donald Beck.
Anna Mae was born and raised in Big Rock and served her country as a WAC in the U.S. Army. Anna Mae became a beautician and owned and operated several salons in the Big Rock area. She was very proud to serve on the board of the National Hairdresser's Association.
In 1984, she and Wayne moved to Nevada, where they enjoyed the beautiful scenery, sunsets and mountains, UNLV Rebel basketball games, and made many new friends. Anna enjoyed working and even worked up to the day she entered the hospital on October 4, 2007, at her job with Bivin Construction, Las Vegas, NV.
While residing at Mountain View Nursing Home, on December 4, 2007, Anna Mae was presented a plaque honoring her 60 years of service/membership from the American Legion.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the English Congregation United Church of Christ, 301 Rhodes Ave., Big Rock, IL.
