Adolphus Albert Abernethy, son of Logan Benjamin Abernethy and Catherine Jarrett, married Drillie Elizabeth Ann Doggett Feb. 20, 1879 in Rutherford Co., NC. Drillie was the daughter of Micajah H. Doggett and Narcissa Susanna Hardin. They had 8 children: Mae Bell, Robert Zebulon, Mamie, George Logan, Samuel DeWitt, Vardy McBee, Katie Sue, and Albert Doggette. After Drillie died, Adolphus married Golden Doggett Withrow. Golden was the daughter of William Doggett and Bessie Butler. Her first husband was Weldon Miller Withrow. Golden died Jan. 16, 1958 in Forest City, NC and is buried at Tanner's Grove Methodist Cemetery in Forest City, Rutherford Co., NC.
