Albert Hoop may have been the son of Ferguson & Nellie (Doble) Hoop and his dob may have been October 28, 1854 or 1853.

OFFICIAL ORGAN OF SHELBY COUNTY. CRADLE --- ALTAR --- TOMB. Died. HOOP --- On the 16th day of February, 1880, in Fairland, of consumption, Mr. Albert Hoop, aged 27. Wife, sisters, brothers and kind friends stood about him during his last sickness, ministering to him by every means love could suggest. Dr. Stewart exhausted the resources of the medical profession in his behalf. The wife and relatives of the deceased return their sincere thanks to their many firends for their kindness toward him during his last sickness, and more especially to the officers of the Martinsville & Fairland Railroad, of which he had been an employe for the last seven or eight years. His last words were, "God bless my little family. I shall soon be with our dear parents, and I want you all to prepare to meet me. I am ready and willing to die." When the toils of life are o'er, And our friends have gone before In that land so bright and fair, There will be no parting there.
