SERGEANT TUBB KILLED IN ACTION
BRONTE, April 7--Cpl. Frank Maxwell Tubb, 21, radio operator and gunner on a B-25 with the 345th Bomber group, was killed in South China March 15, his parents, Mr. and Mrs Arthur Tubb of Robert Lee have been advised.
He was born in Robert Lee, graduated in 1940 from the high school there, went to San Angelo Junior college in 1940-41, and was for a time employed by Hoyt Brothers in San Angelo.
Corporal Tubb enlisted Oct 21, 1943, saw action in the Philippines where he contracted a tropical fever. He spent 45 days in a hospital in Hawaii. He married Dec. 25, 1943, to Dottie Ann Jacobs of Festus, Mo. Survivors include his widow, his parents, a sister, Ava Lou Tubb, and a brother, Mack Arthur, both of Robert Lee. His grandparents are Mrs. Ava Maxwell of Bronte, Mrs. Betty Tubb of Robert Lee and J.L. Tubb of San Angelo. His father was a veteran of World War I.
