Retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Bruce Carlyle Denman, 58, husband of Linda Nelson Denman, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at his home.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was a son of the late Willis Denman and the late Evelyn Claire Austermuehle Jones.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service, having served in the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. He was an avid RC model airplane enthusiast.

Survivors besides his wife include three children, Bruce C. Denman II, Jason E. Denman, and Amy L. Loretz; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Grace.

Private graveside services will be held in the Florence National Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.
