Central High School and Kalamazoo College (1938-39) and received her A.B. Degree from the University of Michigan in 1942. On June 10, 1943, Celia married David Davidoff at Fort Ontario, Oswego, New York. She was an active community volunteer serving the Congregation
of Moses, Sisterhood of the Congregation, Hadassah, March of Dimes; B'Nai Brith; and
A.A.U.W. Celia was also a Charter Member of the Board of the Julius and Esther Stulberg
International String Competition. She loved her family and a host of friends, and enjoyed
social bridge, tennis, travel, and bingo. Celia was preceded in death by her beloved
husband, David, her parents, and her sister, Frieda Levene. She is survived by her
sisters, Harriet (Melvin) Belson of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Marcia Robinson of
South Haven; son, Paul (Judith) Davidoff of Kalamazoo, daughter, Jane (Robert) Rogers of
Bay City, and son, Robert (Denise) Davidoff of Portage; six grandchildren, Jason, Andrea
and Nathan Davidoff, Alex (Cristina) Rogers, Adam (Kelly) Rogers and Erin (Joshua)
Gilbert; three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Marco and Andrew Rogers; several nieces and
nephews. Services will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, April 18 at the Langeland Family
Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Rabbi Harvey Spivak officiating.
Interment will follow in Jewish Riverside Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The
family would like to express their appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff of
Woodside at Friendship Village for the excellent care they provided to Celia. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Congregation of Moses, the Friendship Village
Employee Appreciation Fund, or to a charity of your choice.
