Robert Chandler and wife Mary Hamblen are NOT the parents of Rev. John Chandler. The name Chandler was given to the candlemakers in the village when names were assigned to that the king could be sure he had taxed everyone. It has been estimated there are approximately 150 genetically distinct Chandlers worldwide. John Chandler is in Group 8; Robert Chandler is in Group 7A. They are not genetically related.
