HOWARD H. RUDD
Howard H. Rudd, 66, of 118 Convent Avenue, Bennington, for many years an accountant with the C.J. White Paint and Glass Co., died Tuesday morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The funeral will be conducted Friday morning at 10 at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Floyd I. La Bombard, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bennington. Entombment will follow in Park Lawn Cemetery vault, pending burial in that cemetery in the spring.
He was a native of Bennington, born June 15, 1908 to Dwight H. and Bertha (Warner) Rudd, received his education in the schools of Bennington, and in his earlier years worked for the former County National Bank. He was married to the former Elizabeth LeMay, and she died Sept 28, 1969. He belonged to the Bennington Lodge of Elks for many years and was formerly a treasurer for that organization. As a young man he was a talented drummer and musician for several bands that played in the local area.
He leaves two daughters, Barbara Giola of Cressville, N.J. and Judith Rudd of Bennington; a brother and a sister, Harold P. and Winifred Barber, both of Bennington, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be in attendance at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home office.
