Mrs. Donald E. Kervan
Mrs. Donald E. Kervan, 47, of 311 Washington Ave., the former Margaret Herzog, died at the North Adams Regional Hospital, North Adams, Mass., Saturday morning. Her condition had been listed as "very critical" since she was struck by a car in a freak accident in a North Adams parking lot Jan 25 and little hope had been held for her recovery.
The daughter of Lorne and Irene (Wolfrum) Herzog, she was born in Troy, N.Y., Jan 6, 1926. Her education was in Hoosick Falls schools. She was married to Mr. Kervan, a former police chief in Manchester, in St. Francis de Sales Church Sept 6, 1947. Mr. Kervan died April 28, 1972.
Mrs. Kervan was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Nancy) Donlon, Mrs. Walter J. (Ann) Smith Jr., Mrs. Robert A. (Dawn) Welch, all of Bennington; one son Kelly Fitzpatrick Kervan of Bennington; four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Leon I (Irene) Jacobs of Bennington; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Kervan of Bennington and her brother-in-law, Francis T. Kervan of Windsor Locks, Conn.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:30 am with a prayer and in St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
Friends may call a the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. The Wake service will be at 8 tonight.
Entombment will be in Park Lawn Chapel with burial in this cemetery in the spring.
If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the North Adams Regional Hospital Building Fund, North Adams, Mass., through the funeral home offices.
