Born February 20, 1909, in the Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Adriaan C. and Jocoba (Walraven) Baas. She came to the United States as a young child and attended Kenosha schools.
On July 2, 1943, she married Albert G. Ehlers. He died February 17, 1980.
She was very active in working with the blind and handicapped in Kenosha.
Formally she worked as a cook for the Kenosha Unified School District.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Kenosha Lioness Club.
Surviving are a son, Donald Fojtik of Racine; two brothers, Abe and Donald Baas, both of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, John Fojtik and Bruce Ehlers; and five brothers, John, Neil, Leonard, Clarence and Edward C. Baas.
