James H. Wanner, 83, of Akron, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in West Earl Township to Amos and Sarah (Heiser) Wanner and was the husband of Carol P. (Feese) Wanner .

Jim worked Wickes Lumber in the plumbing department from 1961 to 2008, prior to that he worked at Raub Supply from 1947 to 1961 as a sales rep.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons Ronald J., husband of Susan (Stoner) Wanner of Akron, Robert A. Wanner of Lancaster; a step daughter Lori, wife of Bryan Armstrong, Sr.; grandchildren - David and Jennifer Wanner, Jenna and Bryan Armstrong, Jr.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Walter and Sammuel Wanner; and a sister Edna Wanner who died at the age of 7 months.

Family and friends are invited to attend an interment service Wednesday, July 6, 11:00 at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Main Street, Akron, PA. Followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 North Ninth Street, Akron, with Rev. Leslie Cool officiating.
