Funeral services for Mrs. C. J. (J. Andrea) Hanson will be held at Waldheim
Lutheran Church on Thursday, May 11th.
Mrs. C. J. Hanson passed away at a Jamestown hospital Sunday, May 7, 1950,
after an illness of several months.
She was born in Rora Eidanger, Norway, on January 31, 1876 and was 74 years
old at the time of her death. She came with her parents to Chicago in 1883.
In 1886 they moved to Dakota Territory, settling in what is now
Thordenskjold Township near Nome.
On June, 12th, 1912, she was united in marriage to C. J. Hanson of
LItchville with Rev. Birger reading the marriage ceremony. They lived in
Marion a short time, and then moved to Litchville to make their home up to
the present time.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hanson leaves three children: (Mabel) Mrs. Alvin
Johnson of Jamestown; two sons: Arthur E. in Washington and Warren of
Hoveland, Minnesota, and grandchildren. She also leaves on brother, Jacob
Jacobson, and two sisters; Miss Paula Jacobson and Mrs. Peter Lee, all of
the Eastedge community.
Mrs. Hanson will be missed by our entire community. She was a good neighbor
and friend of all. She raised a fine family of young folks. God bless her
memory.
