Imogene “Imy” GABBERT, 87, of Sallisaw, died on Jan. 15, 2009. No formal service is planned and cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel. Mrs. GABBERT was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Paris, Ark., to Joseph Allen DUERR and Anna (DIGIACOMO) DUERR. Survivors include one son, Alan and his wife, Terri; one daughter, Jill and her husband, Joe; seven grandchildren and spouses; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Bill; and one sister-in-law, Fran. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Edward GABBERT, her parents, one sister, Betty Ann ELLIS and brother, Joe DUERR.Ms. Imogene "IMY" Gabbert of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, died Thursday, January 15, 2009, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 29 days. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Allen Duerr and Anna Digiacomo Duerr. She was born in Paris. Ms. Gabbert was a retired legal and abstract worker. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Sallisaw. Ms. Gabbert was involved in numerous civic and social clubs; she was also a student of the Tsa La Gi language.
Ms. Gabbert was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years: John Edward Gabbert; a sister: Betty Ann Ellis; and a brother: Joe Duerr.
She is survived by a son: Alan Gabbert and his wife: Terri; a daughter: Jill Bagwell and her husband: Joe; 7 precious grandchildren; 9 wonderful great-grandchildren; and 1 very special great-great-grandchild; a sister: Evelyn Elledge and her husband: Bill; a sister-in-law: Fran Duerr; and many dear friends.
The body was cremated.
