Death of Mrs. Goggin
Mrs. Johanna Goggin died at her home Thursday, July 21st after a three weeks illness. Mrs Goggin had been failing in health for a year and was 80 years of age last month. She was the widow of Thomas Goggin who died eleven years ago. Her funeral services were conducted at St. Ann's Church by Rev. Father Keiley and burial was at Calvary cemetery. Eight children survive, all of whom ere present at their mother's funeral. They are William of Copan, Okla, John of Okla, Dan of Milan, Mrs. Catherine Knight, N.M., Emmett, Anna, Mollie and Julia all who live at home. Two sisters Mrs. Elizabeth Reardon of Osborn and Mrs. Dan O'Connor of Cameron.

Mrs. Goggin was born in Ireland June 21st, 1841 and died July 23, 1921. Coming to this country in her early life she lived for a short time in Kentucky, and there married Thomas Goggin. To this union fourteen children were born, eight of whom are living, four sons and four daughters. Two sisters and a brother also remain to mourn her death. Sixty years of her life were spent in Missouri. Few women endured the hardship and sorrow that she was heir to. Yet the writer never met her when she did not have a smile on her face and a blessing on her lips. He kind and loving nature was exemplified in word and deed at home and abroad. Christian modesty was one of her many virtues. A faithful wife and mother, whose devotion and fortitude are a fitting tribute to her memory. After a Requiem mass at St. Ann's church her remains were laid away in Calvary cemetery.
