Adeline "Addie" (Landree) Burns was the daughter of Jean/John Baptise Landree (1790-1878) who was born in Canada and died in Macon County, Missouri, and Ann Janette (Taylor) Landree (1799-1872) who was born in Pennsylvania or Virginia and died in Macon County, Missouri.

Addie had the following known siblings:

Barnett F. Landree 1820 –
James Landree 1824 – 1911
Acolia Landree 1830 –
George Landree 1831 –
Josette /Jozett Landree 1833 – 1859
Rafael Landree 1837 –
Baker Landree 1839 –
Charles Wesley Landree 1839 – 1910

The Landree family lived in Virginia until between 1837 and 1839 when they moved to Macon County, Missouri. This is based on the fact that census records show the first 6 Landree children listed above were born in Virginia (later became West Virginia) and the latter two were born in Missouri.

The Landree family are first shown in Macon County, Missouri in the 1840 census with 10 people in the household. In the 1850 census of the same location, John and Ann Janette Landree are listed with 6 children still left in the home, Acolia 20, George 19, Josette 17, Adeline 13, Rafael 13, and Baker 11.

On December 4, 1856, Addie's older sister Josette/Jazett Landree married Thomas Burns in Macon County, Missouri. They had three known children:

Addie Burns 1858-
Marquis "Mark" Burns 1859-
Infant Son Burns ? - 1859

Josette/Jazett died sometime after this; the exact date of her death is unknown at the present time, but she may have died with the birth of the infant son listed above. Jazett's name is engraved on the infant's stone as his mother. He is buried at Bloomington Cemetery, Macon County, Missouri, where his maternal grandparents are also buried (John and Ann Janette Landree).

In the 1870 census, Addie was 30 years old, living with her elderly parents. The two living Burns children, Addie Burns 12 and Marquis Burns 11 are also living in the home.

On June 2, 1872, Addie married her sister's widowed husband, Thomas Landree. They had at least two more children together, according to census records:

Maude Burns 1874-
Jenny Burns 1875-

In the 1880 census, Thomas and Addie Burns had 4 children in the home (their two, and the two older children by Addie's sister), Addie Burns 22, Mark Burns 21, Maude Burns 6, and Jenny Burns 5.

Thomas died in 1895 at the age of 66, and Addie died in 1931 at the age of 93.
