ALICE LOUISE DOUGHTON
July 25, 1941 - March 26, 2011

Portland resident Alice Louise Doughton died Saturday, March 26, at her home. She was 69.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Wood Village Baptist Church, 23601 N.E. Arata Road, Wood Village.

Alice was born July 25, 1941, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Alvin and Bernice Storrs. She was raised in Phoenix and graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1959.

On July 24, 1959, she married John B. Doughton, a sailor in the Navy, in Phoenix. John and Alice made their home in each of John's duty stations, which included Midway Island, the Philippines, Adak, Alaska, Washington, D.C., Edzell, Scotland, Honolulu, Hawaii, and California. After John retired from the Navy, they moved to Northeast Portland in 1977.

Alice was a homemaker, an office manager for California Pacific Insurance and Investors Insurance, a school bus driver and a physical therapist assistant. She received her associate degree as a physical therapist assistant from Mt. Hood Community College in 1989. She was a member of the Physical Therapist Assistant Association.

Alice enjoyed bicycling, traveling in a recreational vehicle, collecting handmade crafts from her travels and cake decorating. She attended Wood Village Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Deanna Ouellette of Portland; son, John Doughton of Portland; sister, Betty Downing of Portland; and two grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made to Missions at Wood Village Baptist Church, 23601 N.E. Arata Road, Wood Village, 97060.
