On July 1, 2011, Peggye Lindley, 84, passed from this life into the Lord's presence with her daughter Pamela Lindley Ross at her side in Austin, Texas. Peggye was born on August 17, 1926 in Del Valle, Texas. Peggye lived in Texas most of her life surrounded by her siblings, children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Peggye worked for the state of Texas in the Department of Agriculture and in the Texas legislature before moving to Houston to work for Harris County Commissioners Tom Bass and El Franco Lee. She and her husband Fred retired in their hometown of Austin. Peggye was a member at the Westover Hills Church of Christ. Peggye is survived by her daughter Pamela Lindley Ross and her husband Leon, son-in-law Dean Eichelberger, sister Viola Tiemann, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Peggye is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Callie McAngus, husband Fredric Lindley, daughter Patricia Lindley Eichelberger, brothers Milford McAngus and Raymond McAngus, sisters Barbara Suber and Mae Palmer. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening on Monday, the 4th of July at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin. A funeral service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 5th of July in the Colonial Chapel of Cook Walden Funeral Home with Leon Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Dr. Austin Texas. In lieu of flowers, the memorial contributions may be made to World Bible School, worldbibleschool.net or Friends of FANA, MN (orphanage in Colombia) www.friendsoffanaminnesota.org.
