MEINTS, CARLYLE "CARL" MILTON
Carlyle "Carl" Milton Meints was born July 10, 1918 and joined the Lord at his new duty station May 14, 2008. Carl was born in Grand Mound, Iowa to Carl Richard Meints and Grace Margaret Alexander. Carl was one of seven children. He graduated with 10 others in the Class of 1935 from Calamus High School. In 1946, he wed Regina Maxine McCabe, also from Iowa, and made their home in Paradise Hills in 1948. They were married 46 years until her death in 1991. They had five children. In 1991, Carl was remarried to Rita Marie Zonca, a widow from the Fleet Reserve. Together they went on several trips and took part in too many social activities to mention. Rita was truly Carl's soul mate during his retirement years. Visitation is Sunday, May 18, 2008, 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Berge Roberts/El Camino Mortuary located at 607 National City Blvd., 619-474-6565. Memorial Service is Monday, May 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church located at 2602 Reo Drive, San Diego 92139, 619-475-1575. A Reception will follow the Service in the church hall.
