R. Maxine Campbell, age 82, of Fairways Drive, Augusta, Kansas and formerly of Delano Street, Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday September 15, 2007 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on October 18, 1924 in Howard, Ohio to the late Lou and Lucy (Simpson) Beach. Maxine and her family spent many years farming in Fredericktown and she also worked as a nurse aid at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She was a Member of the Gay Street United Methodist and the Mount Vernon Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Campbell of San Antonio, Texas, three daughters, Sue (Carl F.) Kunzi III of Mount Vernon, Sharon (David) Sullivan of Leon, Kansas, Linda Jean Campbell of Sarasota, Florida, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a sister, Ada Jean Welch of Mount Vernon and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Campbell, a daughter, Carol Campbell, three brothers, Cecil Beach, Fred Beach, Ralph Beach and two sisters, Eileen Kirch and Elsie White.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville.
