Bob Law was the second of four children born to Orval Lynn Law and Charlotte Gertrude Benshoof. He grew up in Wimbledon, North Dakota and attended college in Whapeton. He served as a staff sargeant in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Donna Mae Eissginer, November 24, 1956 and fathered five children; Randa Jane, Robert Lynn, Rochelle Kay, Rayette Marie, and Renee Ann.
