PASSING AWAY OF WELL KNOWN MAN

Mr. Thomas L. Ooten was born in Cumberland County, Ky., July 15, 1845. Died at his home near Dresden Monday, Sept. 13; age 75 years.

He was united in married to H. C. Allen, Jan 19, 1871. To this union five children were born, four surviving, as follows: Mr. Joe Ooten, Mrs. Harriett Derossett, Mrs. Lillie Dunn and Mrs. Maude McDaniel.


Mr. Ooten was baptized into the Methodist church when young, remaining steadfast in the faith until death. He had been a citizen of this community for a long number of years and was held in the highest esteem by all.


He was a man who attended strictly to his own affairs; he made a good citizen and an indulgent husband and father. The remains were laid to rest Tuesday afternoon at the Moran burying ground, after services by Revs. J. L. Thomas and C. L. Smith.
