Ivan Erle Whiting Sr. known as Erle Whiting was born on January 2, 1876 in Clitherall, Otter Tail, MN the son of Isaac Morley Whiting and Sarah Jane Talcott Whiting. Erle was a life time member of The Church of Jesus Christ and served as the President of the High Priesthood from April 10, 1955 until his death on August 18, 1958 in Independence, Jackson, MO. He married Blanche Gertrude Cruzan on October 19, 1910 in Clitherall, Otter Tail, MN. To this union 4 children were born. Daisy Evangeline Whiting II, Violet Adella Whiting, Ivan Erle Whiting Jr and Beulah Gertrude Whiting. The family moved to Independence, MO in 1929. He was a wonderful and gentle man.
