Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the Union Army in Company F, 93d Pennsylvania Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 2, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads "Sgt. Marquette, although wounded, was one of the first to plant colors on the enemy's works."
