Amy Ellen Kniesteadt Fincham-Barta was born Jan. 6, 1905 in Home City, Marshall County, Kansas and died Dec. 30, 1993 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Fred L. and Claudia Prichard Kniesteadt. She married Fred A. Fincham on May 6, 1929 in Frankfort, Marshall County, Kansas. She taught schools in the area. In 1950 she and Fred moved to Wichita. In 1960 she graduated from Friends University, Wichita, KS. Amy was active in the estalishment of the Dawson Methodist Church in Wichita. She enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 of the United States.
Fred preceded her in death in 1957 and in 1974 she married Alva Barta (who died in June 2006 in Salina,KS). Survivors included her husband, Alva; a son, Bill Fincham, Mulvane, a daughter Donna Lott-Gunn, Santa Fe, NM; two step-daughters, Virginia VanWey, Salina and Nancy Duykers, Alexandria, VA; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Marysville City Cemetery, Marysville, Marshall County, Kansas
