Bobby Martin, age 88, of Clarksville passed away Monday, September 03, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Martin was born February 24, 1924, in Red River County to Robert and Margaret Watkins Martin. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was of the Presbyterian faith. He married Peggy Jean Emery on July 12, 1947. His passion was squirrel hunting, music, gardening and being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m, Thursday, September 6, 2012, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home. Burial will follow with Military Honors in New Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Nathan Martin, Rusty Stansbury, Brian Holder, Hayden Stringer, Dalton Stringer, Paul Martin and Chance Blagg.
Survivors include 2 sons, Mike Martin and wife Joy of Annona and Don Martin and wife Tammy of Clarksville; 3 daughters, Brenda Smith and husband GH of Rhome, Kim Bridges and husband Ron of Bagwell and Angie Stringer of Bogata; 3 sisters, Mamie Spencer of Lubbock, Pearl Spencer of Bogata and Mary Fitzgearld of Bogata; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
