Lawrence county relatives and friends mourn the death of Will W. Carr, age 52, who died at the family home in Carmel community following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at the New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Davis, pastor of the church, conducting the services assisted by Rev. D. O. Horne. Interment was made in the New Zion Cemetery. Mr. Carr united with the church about a year ago. Immediate survivors include his wife, six sons and a daughter. Several other members of the Carr family are in poor health.

His family was known by the name of " Peck" because of his avid reading of "Peck's Bad Boys Novels". Most of his children were sick with tuberculosis and are buried at New Zion Baptist Church in Lawrence County, MS. (Most without markers)
