Alford, Clifton "Tip"—Died Friday, Sept. 23, 1988, at Westpark Community Hospital, Hammond. He was 66, a native of St. Helena Parish and resident of Jackson. He was a retired E.L.S.H. mechanic supervisor and a U.S. veteran of World War II.
Visiting at Second Baptist Church, Jackson, until religious services at 10 a.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. J.W. Taylor. Burial in church cemetery.
Survived by wife, Bessie P. Alford; two daughters, Betty Jo Travis, Greensburg, and Sonya Brunson, Jackson; a son, Kenneth M. Alford, Jackson; two sisters, Odell Hooge, Clinton, and Idell Langlois, Baker; a brother, Robert "Genie" Alford, Donaldsonville; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents; a brother, Percy Alford; and three sisters, Irma Lee Carter, Vernie Mae Devain and Hazel Henry.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church and a former member of Jackson VFW Post. Charlet Funeral Home, Clinton, in charge of arrangements.
