NEW FREEDOM - Leona O. "Susie" Horn, 71, of New Freedom died at 2 p.m. Wednesday at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward D. Horn Sr.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion (Shaffer's) United Lutheran Church, Shaffer Road, Seven Valleys. Burial will be in New Freedom Cemetery. Viewings will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Sylvan P. Capitani, pastor of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Horn was born June 21, 1927, in Seven Valleys. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Lewella (Markel) Miller.
She was a finisher at AMP Inc., in Glen Rock, as well as other local plants, retiring in 1989 after 18 years of service. She was a life member of Zion (Shaffer's) United Lutheran Church in Seven Valleys; serving on the Congregation Council, Mutual and Social Ministry Committee and former Sunday School superintendent; she was a member of American Association of Retired Persons, Jefferson.
Mrs. Horn is survived by a son, Edward D. Horn Jr., of Glen Rock; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Horn-Keller of Jacobus, Ellen L. Hostler of Felton, and Kathryn E. Horn-McCann of Glen Rock; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Miller of Spring Grove and Robert Miller of Orlando, Fla.; and a sister, Floe Fuhrman of New Freedom.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. J. Thomas Shelley.
